This policy explains what Marine Moore collects when you use marinemoore.com, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. We sell boat parts — we do not sell data.
Who we are

What we collect
When you order
- Name, email address, phone number;
- billing and shipping addresses;
- what you bought, including the dimensions and options of any custom part; and
- a payment confirmation, the card brand and the last four digits.
We never receive your full card number. Card details go directly to Stripe.
When you contact us
Our contact and jobs forms collect what you type into them — name, email, phone, and your message or experience. We use it to answer you and nothing else.
When you browse
Our server keeps standard logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps. We use cookies to keep your cart and session working, and to remember which products you have recently viewed.
Why we use it
To take and fulfil your order, to arrange delivery, to answer your questions, to keep records we are legally required to keep, and to detect fraud. Custom part dimensions are kept so we can rebuild or match a part you order again.
We do not send marketing email unless you ask us to, and any marketing email we do send will have an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
Only the parties needed to complete your order:
- Stripe — payment processing;
- Shipping carriers — your delivery address, to deliver the parcel;
- Our hosting and email providers — who store the data on our behalf; and
- Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.
Cookies
The site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work: keeping items in your cart, keeping you logged in, and remembering recently viewed products. Blocking these in your browser will break checkout.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as we need them for accounting, tax and warranty purposes — normally seven years. Contact form messages are kept while the enquiry is open and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and payment data is handled entirely by Stripe. Access to order data is limited to people who need it to run the shop. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything inaccurate;
- delete it, where we are not required to keep it; or
- send you a copy.
Email sales@marinemoore.com and we will respond. Depending on where you live — for example California, or the EU and UK — you may have additional statutory rights, and we will honour them.
Note that we cannot delete records we are legally obliged to retain, such as completed sales records needed for tax.
Children
This site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
